Description
Ultrasound is an important modality in the assessment of the emergency room patient. Ultrasound is portable, fast, safe, inexpensive, and requires no advance preparation. This issue reviews the use of Ultrasound in the imaging workup in patients with traumatic injuries and scrotal, adnexal, and upper right quadrant pain. Also covered are imaging of abdominal aorta catastrophes, venous examination with Doppler, and renal conditions, such as hydronephrosis, renal stones, and infection. An overview of the use of Ultrasound in pediatric emergencies is also provided.
